This festive day showcases Sanford’s charming historic downtown
as well as beautiful Lake Monroe. Starting with an early morning
walk around Ft. Mellon Park, your day can begin with viewing cars,
boats and motorcycles from different eras. The end of the day will
close with a motorcycle ride for charity and music concert. Participants
and spectators will also enjoy NASCAR show cars, musicians, artists,
sidewalk vendors, and concessions to add to the festival-like atmosphere.
Since the event will benefit Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction
Gang charity, the timing of February coordinates with the Daytona
500, piggybacking on NASCAR’s premiere event to draw race fans
to Sanford. The October event coordinates with Daytona’s Biketoberfest.
However, the variety of events throughout the day (car shows, boat
shows, art shows, charity rides) will bring in a combination of participants
and spectators with varied tastes, interests, and income levels.
Benefiting Central Florida: Bringing Daytona’s Race
Fans to Sanford for a valuable cause, the Victory Junction Gang!
Honoring Central Florida’s “everyman” in a unique
manner, this car show features vehicles the working-man can afford
or at least dream of! Central Floridians have the perfect weather
to enjoy cars from sporty Mustang convertibles to rag-top Jeeps.
They also love the luxury of Mercedes, Jaguar, Hummer, and Ferrari.
Environmentally-conscious residents value the Toyota Prius and other
hybrids. However, Central Floridians also have the advantage of residents
from every generation. From the strength of our senior citizens down
to our soon-to-be-of-driving age teenagers, the Everyman Car Show
will divide up these every-day cars by decades, providing festive
music to match. Imagine strolling by a 1967 Stingray Corvette while
the Beach Boys play in the background. Picture a 1939 Chevrolet “Woody” Station
Wagon while George Gershwin’s “Bye Bye Blues” calls
out to yesteryear.
Benefiting Central Florida: By uniting together residents
from every generation and socio-economic class.
